Boycott Rally at Hippodrome Hears Benes Plea for Drive Against Nazi Aggression

A Citizens’ Boycott Rally against Nazi Aggression, held at the Hippodrome tonight under the auspices of the Volunteer Christian Committee to Boycott Nazi Germany, heard a message from Dr. Eduard Benes, pre-Munich President of Czecho-Slovakia, calling on the democracies to join in resistance to Nazi aggression. Among those on the speakers’ list were Matthew Woll, Vice-president of the American Federation of Labor; Gustave Stroebel, president of the New York State Council of Industrial Organizations; Dr. Robert T. Searle, secretary of the Greater New York Federation of (Protestant) Churches; Dr. Clark M. Eichelberger, director of the League of Nations Association; Judge William Harman Black, Dr. Stephen S. Wise Otto Sattler, Dr. Guy Emery Shipler and Dr. William Jay Schieffelin, chairman of the Volunteer Christian Committee.
