The British Government’s policy on refugee settlement of British Guiana will be announced Wednesday in a White Paper, it was stated today.

The White Paper will coincide with publication of the Anglo American experts commission’s report on its recent survey of the South American colony, undertaken under the auspices of President Roosevelt’s Advisory Committee on Refugees and with the cooperation of the British Government. The report will be published without appendices.

Issuance of the White Paper and the report will be accompanied by a statement in the House of Commons by Colonial Secretary Malcolm MacDonald.

(It was learned in Paris that the commission’s report recommends settlement of 3,000 to 5,000 refugees as an experiment. Although no budget is specified it is assumed that initial investments will amount to a minimum of $20,000,000.)
