London Seen Lukewarm on Guiana Prospects; Financial Backing by Regime Unlikely

The British Government is not enthusiastic about possibilities for settlement of refugees in British Guiana, an Anglo-American Commission’s report on which will be made public tomorrow, it was learned reliably today. A white Paper to be issued tomorrow covering the Government’s policy is likely to assert that there are only limited possibilities for refugee settlement. It is not expected that the statement will announce financial support by the Government for colonization in Guiana.
