District Attorney Thomas E. Dewey notified Mayor LaGuardia today that he would lay before the Grand Jury “certain alleged substantial felonies” of the German-American Bund, in addition to charges of evasion of the city sales tax. In a letter to the Mayor, Mr. Dewey revealed that he had been investigating the Bund for the past several weeks. The sales tax charges, which constitute a misdemeanor, were made by Commissioner of Investigation William B. Herlands.
