Radio Broadcasters Map Voluntary Code Banning “Hate” Broadcasts

A new voluntary code of self-regulation for radio broadcasters which will include a provision that no religious hatred or racial prejudice shall go on the air has been drawn up by a committee of eleven representatives of radio stations, including the three major networks, it was revealed today. Edward M. Kirby, director of public relations of the National Association of Broadcasters, said the agreement would be submitted to the association’s convention in Atlantic City on July 11 and 12 for approval.
