Brazil to Admit 3,000 Catholic Refugees of Jewish Origin on Pope’s Plea

The Brazilian Government is making arrangements for the admission of 3,000 German Catholics of Jewish origin, it was announced today. Lifting of the immigration barriers followed an appeal from Pope Pius Xll. A Government spokesman expressed confidence that there would be work for all the refugees since “Brazil has no unemployment.”
