H.A. Goodman, secretary of the Agudath Israel, orthodox Jewish organization, was received today at the Foreign Office for a discussion of problems arising from the Soviet occupation of Poland and her growing influence in the Baltic countries.
Mr. Goodman pointed out that the organization was particularly disturbed over the fate of distinguished rabbis in the Soviet-held territories. It is understood that the Agudah has contacted a number of rabbis and is endeavoring to obtain their departure from occupied zones, with the moral support of the governments concerned.
