The Iraq Government did not consult Britain before admitting the ex-Mufti of Jerusalem, Haj Amin el Husseini, who escaped from Lebanon, Foreign Under-secretary Richard A. Butler said in the House of Commons today in reply to a question by Tom Williams, Laborite. Butler pointed out that there was no opportunity for consultation since Husseini entered Iraq without permission and crossed the frontier undetected.
