Equal Rights for Jews Stressed in Talk by Greek Official

Greek Jews now enjoy and always will enjoy full equality of right, it was emphasized today by George Kirimis, Governor General of Macedonia, in the Course of an address before pupils of the Jewish communal school “Cazes” on the occasion of the anniversary of founding of the Greek National Youth Organization.

“We love you just as much as the Christian children,” Governor Kirimis said. “We do not make distinctions among Greek citizens of different faiths. Jewish soldiers are serving under the Greek colors and are ready to sacrifice their lives for the fatherland. Your co-religionists in old Greece are distinguishing themselves in all the liberal professions. You may rest assured that the Jews of this country are enjoying and always will enjoy complete equality of civil, moral and other rights. Love of country is all we demand.”
