The New York Times reports from Moscow that “persecution of Jews, a subject that has been taboo since the signing of the Soviet-German pact, was rediscovered today by the Army organ, Red Star.” The dispatch said that “on German authority, the Army paper has discovered the appearance of anti-Semitic leaflets in Sweden,” although no echo of “Hitler’s continued intensified anti-Jewish measures since the outbreak of the war has reached the Soviet press.”
