The Nazi authorities in Poland have decided to institute a special “Jewish tax,” to be collected from all Jews owning more than 2,000 zlotys (about $400 at pre-war rates) in property, including clothing and furniture, it was reported tonight. The report said Jewish leaders in Warsaw were frantically seeking a way to meet the levy since many Jews have lost the bulk of their property through war damage and through confiscation.
