The executive committee of the Jewish National Council, it was understood today, is conducting intensive negotiations with representative of various Jewish parties for formation of a Palestine Jewish “war cabinet.”

The “cabinet” would include Moshe Shertok, head of the Jewish Agency political department; Mayor Israel Rokach of Tel Aviv; David Remez, secretary of the Histadruth (Palestine Jewish labor federation); Dr. M. Altman, Zionist-Revisionist leader, and Rabbi Meir Berlin, Mizrachi leader.

Meanwhile, High Commissioner Sir Harold Alfred MacMichael granted permission to Auni Bey, former secretary of the outlawed Palestine Arab Supreme Committee, has been banned from Palestine since 1937 and has been living in Egypt.

Censorship was imposed today on inland telegrams in Palestine and to Transjordan.

High Commissioner MacMichael will make a radio address tomorrow, presumably dealing with the new situation resulting from Italy’s entry into the war.
