Bearing relief supplies desperately needed by millions of French refugees crowded into the unoccupied part of southern France, the S.S. McKeesport, Red Cross mercy ship, arrived in Marseille last night, it was announced at national headquarters today.

The cargo of the McKeesport, Chairman Norman H. Davis explained, will be distributed only in unoccupied France. Previous reports from Red Cross headquarters in France advised national headquarters that there was a desperate need for relief supplies of all kinds, especially food for refugee children.

Davis said American Red Cross workers would supervise the actual distribution of the supplies in the areas where the need was greatest.
