Moses Dayyan Mosessohn, attorney and philanthropist, died yesterday of a heart attack at his Fifth Avenue home, it was announced today. He was 56. Funeral services will be held Sunday with Rabbi Jonah B. Wise of Central Synagogue officiating and burial will be at Mt. Carmel Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, the former Blanche Lillian Kaplan.
Mosessohn lived during his youth in Portland, Ore., where he was educated and began his career. He was counsel to and leader of a number of clothing manufacturers’ organizations. He also was publisher of The Jewish Tribune for a year, past president of the New York Lodge of B’nai B’rith, acted as councillor of the Federation for Support of Jewish Philanthropic Societies and was a member of the executive committee of the Anti-Defamation League.
