The French Government has lifted restrictions preventing press attacks and criticism levelled against the Jewish religion or people, a Vichy dispatch to the New York Times disclosed today. This was done when the Government announced on Tuesday the abrogation of the decree law of April 21, 1939, which forbade hostile criticism of any group of the French nation on racial and religious grounds, the dispatch said.
