Former Interior Minister Georges Mandel was acquitted by a Moroccan military court of treason charges, it was revealed here today. The acquittal, which occurred some time ago although news of it was suppressed until now, is seen here as a serious setback for the Petain Government in the forthcoming war guilt trials at Riom, in which Mandel is to be a principal defendant.
