The Vichy Government’s anti-Jewish legislation has been greeted with obvious distate by the French and is generally scored as contrary to the spirit of the French Constitution, it was reported here today.
The correspondent said the French press had shown its disgust by refraining from any comment on the laws with the exception of the newspaper L’ Action Francaise which demanded even stronger measures against the Jews.
