In response to an urgent appeal for aid, the HIAS-ICA Emigration Association office in Marseille is sending a representative to Camp de Gurs, where 7,000 Jews expelled from Baden and Pfalz are interned, to arrange for emigration of as many as possible, the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society here disclosed today.

The appeal was sent by one of the leaders of the refugees, a former president of the Baden Jewish community. It was stated that the expelled German Jews faced death by starvation unless they were rescued. A preliminary report prepared by the HIAS-ICA in Marseille indicated that a number of the exiles could be rescued. A complete list of the internees is being prepared and will be made available soon, it was stated.
