Sending an unsolicited contribution to the United Jewish Appeal for Refugees and Overseas Needs, General W.H. Hodges Jr., of Elm Grove, La., declared that it was his “firm conviction that the world is now paying the penalty of its indifference to the persecution of Jews by Hitler and his kind,” the U.J.A. revealed today.

General Hodges, who is now stationed at Camp Beauregard, Louisiana, said the movement to provide relief for the distressed should be supported by “all people of every race and creed in this free country.”
