By a vote of 14 to 8 the board of governors of the Jewish Welfare Federation of Detroit has rejected the proposal to establish a national advisory budgeting committee it was announced here today by the Committee on the Referendum for Budgeting opposing the proposal.
With the Detroit action, there are now 38 communities which have voted in favor of the minority proposal as against the majority proposal offered by the Council of Jewish Federations and Welfare Funds. The larger communities among them are Pittsburgh, Washington, Milwaukee, St. Paul, Portland, Ore.; Columbus, O., and Omaha.
