Reinforcements Sent to Palestine; Demand for Armino of Jews Renewed

It was officially announced today that British and imperial reinforcements have arrived in Iraq and Palestine. The British radio said “the position is described as one which can and will be taken care of.”

The development followed disclosure that the Germans had received air bases in Syria and had reportedly landed tanks and light was material there. In connection with the Syria events. The Zionist Review, organ of the British Zionist Federation, declared editorially:

“What can now stay the way to full mobilization of the Jewish population in Palestine, prepared for a life and death struggle? any further delay is not only against common sense, but a direct blow to the Jewish national home and to the cause of the British Commonwealth.”

Polish sources here reported that a number of Polish airman have gone to Palestine by way of Angora, Turkey.

Refugees from Syria are arriving in Palestine by way of Transjordan, it was reported here. They said the authorities were confiscating food for military purposes, resulting in a food shortage.
