STOCKHOLM (May. 27)
Karl Otto Bonnier, Sweden’s leading book and magazine publisher, died yesterday at the age of 85. He had been the head of the Bonnier firm since 1900, when he succeeded his father, Albert Bonnier, founder of the company. He was also a former president of the Swedish Book Publishers’ Association. In 1937, the 100th anniversary of the firm, he set up a fund of a million kroner ($250,000) to aid authors, journalists and book illustrators.
