Prosecutor W. G. Weller, who during a police court trial of a firm of chain stores charged with selling food above the legal maximum prices remarked on the owner’s “Jewish persuasion,” has formally withdrawn the observation and apologized to the court. The defendant’s attorney accepted the apology and the Magistrate said he was glad to hear the apology.
