Yeshiva College Gives Degrees to 40

Yeshiva College, only Jewish college of liberal arts and sciences, held its tenth annual commencement exercises today, conferring degrees upon the 40 members of the graduating class. Dr. Nelson P. Mead, Professor of History at the City College of New York, delivered the commencement address before more than 1,500 guests and received the honorary degree Doctor of Humane Letters. Samuel Levy, chairman of the Yeshiva College Board, made the welcoming address.

The honorary degree Doctor of Divinity was conferred upon Rabbi Bernhard L. Leventhal of the United Orthodox Community of Philadelphia and Rabbi Herbert S. Goldstein, of the West Side Institutional Synagogue.
