Joseph Beder, acting president of the New Zionist Organization of America, has sent a letter to about 200 Jewish organizations proposing the calling of an emergency conference to “proclaim our national unity and create a United Emergency Committee” as “the supreme governing body for all actions of the American Jewry,” it was announced today.
