B’nai B’rith Contributes $323,850 for Relief in First Two Years of War

In the first two years of the present war B’nai B’rith contributed $323,850 for aid to refugees and relief of war sufferers in 16 countries without regard to race or creed, according to figures made public here today by Henry Monsky, president of B’nai B’rith.

Of the total sum, $179,700 were given to non-sectarian agencies such as the Red Cross, British war Relief Society, British-American Ambulance Corps, Bundles for Britain, United China Relief, Finnish Relief Fund, Greek War Relief Society and Queen Wilhelmina Fund. The other $144,150 were expended through existing Jewish agencies operating in the overseas field and through B’nai B’rith committees abroad. This amount included $29,700 allocated to various Palestinian causes.
