Further groups of Jews interned by the British are expected to shortly reach the Island of Mauritius, according to information reaching Jewish organizations here today.

Meanwhile the Board of Jewish Deputies here today appointed a Johannesburg rabbi to take care of the religious requirements of several hundred Jews already deported from Palestine to Mauritius, to remain there for the duration of the war. Torah scrolls have already been sent from here to Mauritius for the self-governing Jewish community now in formation, and permission has been secured to supply the Jews in Mauritius with Kosher meat which will be transported from here at regular intervals.
