The Nazi authorities in Belgium ordered all Jewish firms there to display their “Jewish signs” more conspicuously than hitherto, it is reported here today.
The new order is due to the fact that the Belgian population refuses to boycott Jewish enterprises. Many Belgians offer as an excuse the fact that they do not notice the “Jewish signs” at the entrances.
Nazi occupational authorities in Belgium are at the same time reported preparing other regulations with a view toward ousting Jews from the economic life of the country. All Jewish enterprises are now registered with the German military authorities, while Jewish investments, banking accounts and real estate are under special supervision.
