Jewish achievements in the upbuilding of Palestine have “not only been a contribution to the ‘Land of Jewish Destiny’ but also to the victory of the Allies.” declared Jaromir Necas, Czechoslovakian Minister of State in an address today before a Palestine Victory Campaign luncheon at Newcastle.

Necas stressed the identity of Czech and Jewish aims, and stated that Czechoslovakians have fought for centuries for freedom for themselves and their fellowmen. “Jews in a free Czechoslovakia had all rights granted to other citizens, and now by a curious twist of fate both Czechs and Jews have been deprived of their rights as freemen,” he concluded.

The Czech Minister pledged Czechoslovakian support to Jewish efforts for a national revival in Palestine.
