The German press in Berlin today carries severe attacks against Cardinal Seredi, Primate of Hungary, for his open condemnation this week of the introduction of the Nuremberg Laws into Hungary.

In their enraged protests against the Hungarian Private, the Nazi newspapers reveal that the Cardinal defied orders from Berlin. His hold declaration that the “Nazi racial theory is contrary to the Christian religion” was made despite orders from Berlin and as a challenge to them, the German press reports. “It is too bed that the Cardinal has failed to grasp the fact that Hitler is the saviour of Christianity.” one of the Nazi papers comments in an angry article.
