Three Chief Rabbis Send Joint Greetings to Jews in Soviet Russia

Chief Rabbi Herzog of Palestine, Chief Rabbi Hertz of England and Rabbi Schneersohn, spiritual head of the Russian Jews here, today sent a joint message of greetings to the Jews of Soviet Russia on behalf of the Committee for Russian Jewry.

“We sand our heartiest New Year’s greetings to our brethren in Soviet Russia,” the message reads. “Thousands of communities in Britain, America and Palestine will offer fervent prayers for the triumphant victory of the forces of freedom, justice and righteousness.” The message was delivered to the Soviet Ambassador in London for transmission to Moscow.
