Poultry shops in the Jewish quarter of Bucharest are prohibited from selling any poultry, either alive or dead, under a new decree issued by the Rumanian Ministry of Economics, according to the Bucharest newspaper, Universal, which reached here today.
The decree which entered into effect on November 10, also provides that the ritual slaughter of poultry is forbidden throughout Rumania. Previously the ban applied only to cattle and sheep.
