All Jews who entered France since January 1, 1936 will be placed either in forced labor units or concentration camps, it was announced today over the radio from Lyons. This latest decree by the Vichy government is one of the special measures it is taking to stop the continuing attacks on members of the occupational forces.

The broadcast stated that the decree is designed to strike “not only against the immediate authors of the outrages, but also against those directly or indirectly responsible for them.” It specifies “Jews, Communists and parachutists.”
