The British Government is investigating to determine whether any special action is necessary in connection with the allowances and pensions for Palestine Jewish soldiers, it was announced today by Sir Edward Grigg, Under-Secretary of War, in reply to a question in Commons by A. Creech Jones, Labcrite M.P.
Sir Edward stated that the family allowances in Palestine were granted after consideration of all related circumstances and that they had been raised from time to time as the rates allowed dependent families of soldiers in England had been increased. Awards to disabled Palestinian Jewish soldiers are now about two-thirds of those paid to English soldiers at home, he said.
