Rumanian authorities today issued an order in Bucharest stating that Jews who are unable to deliver warm clothing for the army as requested, will have to pay cash instead. The order was announced over the Rumanian radio stations.
The following prices are to be paid by Jews to the government: 10,000 lei for en overcoat: 6,500 lei for a suit; 3,500 for a pair of trousers; 3,000 for a blanket; 1,500 for a sheet of linen or a straw mattress; 1,500 for a cap or a hat; 800 lei for a shirt; 500 lei for underwear; 200 lei for a towel; 150 lei for a pair of socks and 100 lei for a handkerchief.
