Victor Alter and Henryk Ehrlich, the two Polish Socialist Bund leaders re-arrested last month in Russia by the Soviet authorities, were seized because they allegedly attempted to send letters to America, reporting on the position of Bundist prisoners held by the Soviet, it is reported here today.
Polish-Jewish Communists in Russia, the report says, objected to Ehrlich and Alter intervening in political matters. At present Ehrlich, who is suffering from a throat ailment, is in the prison hospital undergoing treatment, the report disclosed.
