The sinking of any Japanese ship over 6,000 tons by a U. S. ship, aircraft or coast artillery will net the crew of the vessel, plane or battery the sum of $1,000, to be donated by Ralph M. Levey, New York Jewish industrialist, This was made known here by the White House in acknowledging the receipt by the President of the first $1,000 check from Mr. Levey.

Mr. Levey had previously announced that he would present $200 to every naval crew that sinks a submarine off the North Atlantic coast, with an additional $100 to go to the Navy Relief Fund if an enemy underseas craft is destroyed within a month.
