Jewish-populated Districts of Wolhynia and Podolia Merged by Nazis into One Province

The districts of Wolhynia and Podolia in the Nazi-occupied Ukraine, where the Jewish population constitutes a large percentage of the 4,500,000 people still reported to be there, have been merged by the Nazi administration into one province, it is reported in German newspapers reaching here today from Cracow. The Nazi commissar H. Schoene, who supervised the administration in the city of Rovno, Wolhynia, has been appointed commissar for the newly-created district.

The Nazi press also reports that changes have taken place in the Nazi administration in Galicia and that the police force in Poland has been reorganized and given powers for exceeding those necessary for the ordinary maintenance of order and security.
