More than 3,000 people attended the opening of the Keren Hayesod campaign in Argentina here last night at which messages of greeting from Prof. Albert Einstein and Governor Herbert H. Lehman were read. The principal speaker at the gathering was Leib Jaffe, director of the Keren Hayesod in Jerusalem who arrived here from the United States.

Prof. Einstein, in his message, called upon the Jews of Argentina to prepare themselves for post-war reconstruction work emphasizing that the development of Palestine will be one of the main tasks. Governor Lehman, in his message, said that “the Jews of Palestine have shown themselves ready for every sacrifice and they merit the fullest measure of help.” The meeting was presided over by Nathan Gesang, president of the Zionist Organization of Argentina.
