Raphael Szafar, former head of the Palestine Office in Warsaw, today proceeded from Jerusalem to Teheran as a member of the Polish Red Cross delegation which is to deal with all cases of Polish nationals reaching Iran from Soviet Russia. Mr. Szafar will also represent the Jewish Agency for Palestine and the Federation of Jewish Relief Organizations of Great Britain, it was stated here today.

One of the missions with which Mr. Szafar is entrusted is arranging for the transportation to Palestine of Polish nationals who are holders of Palestine visas. He will also handle relief problems for the refugees from Poland reaching Iran from Soviet Russia. Special authorization has been given him to arrange relief for Jewish refugees from Poland who are still on Russian soil.

The question of relief for Polish Jews now stranded in Soviet Russia will be taken up here next Sunday at a conference called by the Council of Polish Jews in Britain. Count Raczynski, the Polish Foreign Minister, is expected to address the gathering.
