The names of four more Jews who have been executed by the Nazis in the Czech Protectorate in the indiscriminate reprisals that have followed the assassination of Reinhard Heydrich, were released here today by the Czech government, which announced that the total number of executions has now reached 153, including 29 women.
In Prague, Dr. Max Sachs, 59, was shot for living without permission in the home of a Czech hairdresser, Emanuel Grof, who was also executed. In Brno, Moric Abelas, 57, Ivan Waltig, 46, and Moric Judenberg, 50, were executed for “approving the assault on Heydrich.”
These executions bring the known number of Jews put to death by the Nazis to six, two Jewish women having been shot last week-end. Czech circles here state that many other Jews have undoubtedly met with a similar fate, but their names are not yet known.
