A farewell dinner was given here today to Dr. Jacques Faitlovitch, explorer and founder of the Jewish educational and welfare work among the Falashas, on the occasion of his return to Ethiopia to resume his work among the Jews there.

The activities of Dr. Faitlovitch will be financed by the American Pro-Falasha Committee which has been in existence for over twenty years. The committee, in 1923, established a Jewish school in Addis Ababa, capital of Ethiopia, where hundreds of Falashas were given a Jewish education. Soon after the Italians were driven out of Ethiopia last year, Dr. Faitlovitch re-established contact with the Jewish tribe there. Information which he received from them reveals that they suffered greatly under the Italian occupation.
