Jewish Leaders and Polish Diplomats Discuss Anti-jewish Discrimination in Relief Work

The continual complaints of discrimination by Polish relief officials in Russia against Polish Jews in the distribution of relief there led to a conference here today between the Polish Consuls in Palestine and Dr. Isaac Gruenbaum and Dr. Emil Schmorak, members of the executive of the Jewish Agency, who represent the interests of Polish Jewry.

As a result of this conference, it is understood that the Polish Government in-Exile has made the following promises: 1. Many restrictions against Polish Jews in Russia who are entitled to relief will be withdrawn; 2. Jewish representatives will be appointed to the Polish refugee committees functioning in Russia; 3. No discrimination will be practiced against Polish Jews enlisting in the Polish armed forces in Russia.

Arab newspapers here today report that 70,000 Palestine-made phials of anti-typhus vaccine have been sent to Polish refugees in Russia through the Polish Red Cross which has an office in Tel Aviv.
