Immigration Commissioner Pledges He Will Speed Naturalization of Aliens in U.S. Army

Earl G. Harrison, newly-appointed Commissioner of Immigration and Naturalization, has pledged that he will “do everything possible” to facilitate the naturalization of aliens serving in the armed forces of the United States. The pledge was given in a letter replying to a query by a loyal alien concerning a recent modification by the War Department of the naturalization regulations for alien soldiers, it was disclosed here today.

Meanwhile, Mr. Harrison reported to Attorney-General Biddle that 263,950 German aliens in the United States have received their identification certificates from the Department of Justice.
