With the Axis armies suffering smashing blows in Tunisia, the Nazi-controlled radio stations throughout France today launched an intensified anti-Jewish campaign, playing up the fact that Rene Mayer, a Jew, has been appointed by Gen. Giraud to the post of Secretary of Communications.

Simultaneously, the Nazi-controlled radio in occupied Belgium, today broadcast an appeal to all Belgians “to have confidence in Germany” and “not to remain indifferent to the Jewish question.” The broadcast also quoted an article from the Nazi paper Brusseler Zeitung stating that “Jews must never re-enter the European continent.”

The Paris radio today reported that a Polish Jew, Mendel Langer, was sentenced to death by a special court in Toulouse on the charge that he received a case containing explosives sent to him by an unknown person.
