The first ORT school in Cuba was opened here this week with prominent Cuban officials, the American Consul, Allied diplomats and Jewish leaders in attendance. Jewish refugees here will be enrolled in the school where they will obtain training enabling them to secure employment in industrial enterprises.
Hundreds of people visited the school on the opening day including the Governor of Havana and representatives of the Ministry of Education. Greetings were received from the Emergency Committee of the World ORT Union in New York and from the American ORT Federation.
