Mrs. Samuel Bronfman, prominent Canadian Jewish leader, was tendered a reception here yesterday in honor of her having been made an officer of the Order of the British Empire by King George VI for her signal contributions to Jewish and non-Jewish philanthropic and war causes in the Dominion.

Hundreds of persons, including representatives of the Canadian Jewish Congress, the Canadian Red Cross, Hadassah and other groups with which Mrs. Bronfman is connected, crowded the YMHA here to congratulate her. A gold plaque was presented to Mrs. Bronfman on behalf of Montreal women.
