The Board of Governors of the American Association for Jewish Education, meeting here in an all-day session yesterday, in lieu of its scheduled annual meeting which was postponed at the request of the Office of Defense Transportation, voted to secure the services of an executive director and to expand the field staff of the organization.
Leaders of Jewish education in 25 cities throughout the country reported on the developments in their communities. The Association which was formed four years ago to act as a liason agency between the lay leaders of Jewish educational activities, is now devoting its efforts to assisting various communities in maintaining their educational facilities in the war period and in planning for after the war. Since the regular convention was cancelled, it was decided yesterday that all officers will retain their posts until such time as a convention can be held. Mark Eisner of New York City is president of the Association.
