Jewish Judge Named to South African Supreme Court

Justice Leopold Greenberg, presiding justice of the Transvaal, has been elevated to the Appelate Division of the Supreme Court, it was announced today. Justice Greenberg is the first Jew to be named to South Africa’s highest court. He is active in Jewish communal affairs, being president of the South African Keren Hayesod and of the Friends of the Hebrew University.
