The South African Board of Deputies voted today to collaborate actively with the American Jewish Conference, which recently concluded its first session in New York, and with other appropriate bodies overseas, in order to assist the Jews in Europe and Palestine now and after the war.

At the same time, the Board established a special “committee on the tragedy of European Jewry” on which the Zionist Federation and several Polish Jewish groups are represented. The committee is expected to launch a campaign throughout the Union to acquaint the general population with the situation of the Jews in Europe.
